NHS services during the August bank holiday weekend

//NHS services during the August bank holiday weekend

During the August bank holiday weekend (24 to 26 August 2019), local residents in Richmond will have access to a range of healthcare services through extended access GP appointments and urgent treatment centres – accessible by calling 111 over the weekend or walking-in at Teddington Memorial Hospital.

Those with urgent medical issues can call NHS 111 to speak to a fully trained adviser, 24 hours a day. Advisors can connect callers to a nurse, emergency dentist or GP and can arrange face-to-face appointments.

Local residents are also reminded to stock up on repeat prescriptions before the weekend but if you do need to visit a pharmacy, a full list of their opening hours over the August bank holiday is given below. Pharmacists are a great resource and can help with a wide variety of minor health issues.

If you have an emergency, call 999 or go to A&E.

Accident and emergency departments are for seriously ill people with life threatening conditions, so we would encourage you to use alternative health services if the issue isn’t an emergency.
