Five clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in south west London have today announced the appointment of Sarah Blow as the new Accountable Officer for NHS Kingston, Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth CCGs from 2017/18 and NHS Sutton CCG from April 2018.
Sarah has previous experience in south west London at Sutton and Merton Primary Care Trust (PCT) and in the south east with PCTs in East Sussex. As part of her remit at NHS Bexley CCG, she has held London-wide and Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) leadership roles.
The appointment is the result of the five CCGs in south west London having chosen to work collectively to maximise health outcomes for local populations. The new Accountable Officer will appoint and lead a senior management team for the five CCGs.
Speaking on behalf of the five CCGs, Dr Andrew Murray, GP Chair of NHS Merton CCG said: “We are delighted to have made such a strong appointment to this important new role. Sarah has the qualities needed to bring the work of the CCGs together to address the significant commissioning challenges set out within the Sustainability and Transformation Plan for south west London.
Sarah commented: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new accountable officer. There is no doubt that there are challenging times ahead for the health and care system, however this is an opportunity for us to work together collaboratively to deliver sustainable and high quality services. I am privileged to be in a position to build on the strong foundations within the system.”
