South West London CCGs’ statement - CAMHS neurodevelopmental assessment service
Discussions are taking place across south west London to develop a plan which ensures that children with autism and their parents get all the support they need and ensuring that services are fit for purpose. Suggested changes to the CAMHS neurodevelopmental assessment service were referenced by South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust at their board meeting. No decision has been made by the Trust or by the commissioning CCGs on taking this approach forward.
We absolutely recognise the concerns of families of children with a neurodevelopmental condition and the groups who support them and these must be addressed in any proposal brought forward for consideration. Any potential changes to the service would require detailed engagement with stakeholders. The CCGs are fully committed to talking to local people before reaching any conclusions on the way forward.
The Trust and South West London CCG commissioners are committed to making sure children and young people access the most appropriate service for their needs. We need to get the model of service and service capacity right to meet the full range of needs across South West London.
Our plans are yet to be fully developed and discussed, but we want to be clear that nothing has been decided by the CCGs or changed at this time and no change will happen in the next 12 months.
